Team learning & development

Less course writing

A tool rollout or a role change often leaves HR and L&D building another course from scratch. The planned workflow starts with the skills you need and the knowledge you already have. Octo drafts the teaching; your internal team curates it for the people who need it.

  • Define learning goals for a role, a function, or the whole team.
  • Curate courses and learning paths for a role, skill, or development goal.
  • Review and edit prepared lessons before you assign them.

When a customer asks for a refund

Approve a refund requested within 14 days of purchase. Escalate requests outside that window.

Internal knowledge sharing

Your way of working

The answer may be in a document, but understanding it still takes someone’s time. Give people a way to learn your processes, standards, and ways of working through relevant examples and follow-up questions, using the knowledge available to them.

  • Bring together playbooks, process documents, and reference material.
  • Let employees request a course for an immediate goal, using knowledge they can access.
  • Let people ask follow-up questions without repeating the same session with an expert.

From a question to a learning path

  1. 1

    Source knowledge

Support playbook · Refund policy · Escalation process

  2. 2

    Learner asks

How do I handle a complex refund as a new support lead?

  3. 3

    Personalized path

Understand the policy → Work through scenarios → Know when to escalate

HR training & onboarding

Employee onboarding

New hires need to know what matters first, how your company works, and where their role fits. Build a shared foundation from your handbook and policies, then tailor the next steps to their experience and responsibilities.

  • Create a shared foundation for everyone joining the company.
  • Add learning relevant to each role and level of experience.
  • Use your handbook, policies, and team documents as source material.

Project onboarding

Project handovers

Every project arrival can mean another walkthrough for the same senior people. Turn project documents, decisions, and responsibilities into a focused learning path so newcomers can build context before asking the team for help.

  • Capture the project knowledge that usually lives with a few people.
  • Shape onboarding around a member’s role and responsibilities.
  • Give newcomers a tutor to ask follow-up questions as they learn.

Track team learning

Progress you can see

Sending a course link does not tell you whether someone has learned from it. The planned admin workspace brings learner profiles, assigned courses, progress, and completion together so you can follow up with the right people.

  • See module progress and outstanding assignments in one roster.
  • Review learner profiles and learning activity alongside their courses.
  • Recognize completion with a certificate anyone can verify.

From knowledge to learning

  1. Step 1

    Set the context

Add files, PDFs, Markdown, and images. Decide what stays private and what belongs in the shared knowledge base.

  2. Step 2

    Shape the learning

Your internal team curates courses and learning paths for assignment. Learners can also create a personal course from the knowledge available to them.

  3. Step 3

    Teach and follow through

Bring Octo’s individual learning experience into your workspace. Follow learner progress and completion, and see where support is needed.

Your workspace. Your control.

One learning workspace

Bring people, materials, courses, and progress into one workspace on your organization’s Octo subdomain. Manage your organization’s profile, owners, admins, and employees.

Knowledge access

Manage internal material separately from the knowledge you make available to external learners. Support for files, PDFs, Markdown, and images is planned for both knowledge bases.

Course control

Your team reviews courses, curates learning paths, and assigns the right learning to each role. Keep people, materials, and progress organized in one place.

Common questions

Is Octo for Business available today?

The organizational workspace capabilities described here are planned. The previews illustrate the intended experience. In a tailored demo, we’ll explain what is available to try and discuss the scope and timing of a pilot.

Do we have to write every course?

The goal is to let you provide the knowledge and learning outcomes while Octo drafts the teaching. Your internal team curates courses and learning paths for assignment. Learners can also request personal courses using the knowledge they have access to.

What happens to our private knowledge?

The plan separates your organization’s private knowledge base from its shared knowledge base. External learners would build courses from shared material, not your private internal documents. We’ll walk through access requirements with you when planning a pilot.

Who controls the learning?

Your internal team curates courses and learning paths. Employees can also request personal courses from the knowledge available to them. We’ll discuss roles and access requirements when planning your pilot.

Can we track learning?

Learner profiles and progress tracking are part of the planned admin experience, alongside user and course management. The dashboard preview uses sample people and progress, not customer results.

Will we have our own workspace?

An isolated tenant workspace on an organization-specific Octo subdomain is planned, with a workspace profile and separate internal and external user management.

What does it cost?

Pricing and commercial terms will be discussed against your audience, use case, and pilot scope. We’ll agree on scope and terms before a pilot begins.

How do we get started?

Book a tailored demo and tell us who you want to teach, what they need to do, and which materials you already have. We’ll review the planned experience together, then discuss a pilot with clear scope, timing, and success criteria.

See it with your knowledge.

Tell us who needs to learn and what they need to do. We’ll show the planned experience and discuss materials, timing, and a manageable pilot.

Have your use case and approximate learner count in mind. No material upload needed to book.

    Your learning goal

Who you want to teach and what they should be able to do.

  2. 2

  3. 3

    Your pilot

Discuss materials, a learner group, success criteria, and availability before committing to a rollout.
